Anyone know what type of bird these are? I enjoyed watching them from the ferry while we were leaving Liberty Island a few weeks back.

Thanks to my dad sending me this link, i believe I can safely identify this bird as Chroicocephalus ridibundus, or the Common Black-Headed Gull. Interestingly, these birds lose their black plumage in winter and look much more like common white-headed gulls during that season.
Dad and Wikipedia can't be wrong...
