Groton Long Point - Misc.

Here is another comparison between filtered black and white and the original color capture. Does one of them speak to you more effeectively than the other one? If so, what does it say to you...?

A tattered, snow-aged little flag, just waiting for the end of the off-season...

Ahh, the classic self-portrait

The color one speaks much more loudly to me. The fact that it is a flag sort of gets lost in the black and white. Very cool picture.

Thanks, Amy. I see your point. Funny that I didn't realize how much my perception of the B&W version was impacted by already knowing what it looked like in color. When I force myself to see it without preconception the flag just sort of gets lost in the rest of the picture... Good thing to think about in the future.

Rachel was afraid of your self portrait... she said it looks like a scary monster.

That Rachel is very astute. I can be quite frightening!
