Boston LDS Temple - 11-11-11 - Again

Tried this yesterday and the pictures didn't upload correctly. This is my second attempt today to post them and it looks like this time the photos might just come through...

I just processed a pile of pictures I took of the Boston LDS Temple on 11-11-11 and here are a handful of my favorites. I may post a few more later as I only made it half way through the batch.

Groton Long Point - B&W

Here are a few more filtered black and white conversions. It was cold with a brisk wind on the sound side of Groton Long Point this Saturday but there was calm water just a few hundred yards inland in the harbor.

The New London Ledge Light is visible on the horizon.

In contrast to the waves on the sound, the water in the harbor inlet was calm and glassy.

Looks like the winter wind has taken its toll on this flag.

Boston LDS Temple - B&W

I converted a few shots of the Boston LDS Temple to black and white. Here are a few where I liked the black and white treatment.

Color Sunrise vs. B&W

It's been a while since I played around with filtered black and whites. Here are two shots from the other morning that I liked in color... and I think I like them just as much or more in black and white.

Which do you prefer?

What Do You Find A-Luring?

I snapped a few pictures of a lonely lost fishing lure sitting on a pylon down by the Connecticut River. These large wooden pylons are each capped with copper or brass that bears the scars of countless bait dissections, fish cleanings, and seagull bombings.

I liked the close-up shots of the red and white lure with its steel leader. But, then I tried processing these into black and white with a green filter setting and I really liked those results, too. Here are two different shots shown in both the color and B&W versions. Do you like one better than the other? In color or B&W?
